Ac cancels their YEG/LHR flight for 3 months

Vulgar troll again displays how he has single-handedly destroyed this website and Milepoint after being banned from flyertalk.

Milepoint is going great w/o trolls like you who display total ignorance with their biases. You and cook, the paper boy, belong in the same room together.

if you stayed off this site it would become a travel place for real travellers not AH's who simply like to diss one airline.

the truth about AC and Edmonton is that most of the profitable flying in Northern Alberta is done to places like Ft. Mc. YMM now gets three NS flts, most days, from YYZ with many cnx pax from the maritimes, the US and Europe. Those direct flts to YYZ, and to some degree YYC, fit the schedule of many Europeans who now come and go to YMM. AC also now has almost daily NS flights to YVR , some days 2, from YMM. They also have 532 NS seats daily from YYC to YMM and are still growing their capacity on that route. They also have 6 NS flights from YEG to YMM but more and more people who live in YEG or YMM now drive to/from YMM as the highway starts to improve.

The many charters that emanate out of the various airstrips around YMM all go directly east or to YYC for further connections.

I am not totally up to speed on GP but the majority of connections out of there are in YYC for both WJA and AC and, apparently AC is now considering a NS from GP to YYZ and beyond as the traffic to YEG is almost all CNX traffic going east.

YEG, at best, is a growing regional hub with some capacity to support a few seasonal international flights. The wailing from columnists and the head of YEG airport all miss the fact the LHR flight was not profitable because people don't buy J class like they do out of YYC. Icelandair, it appears, cannot make it work w/o the subsidy from YEG taxpayers.

As a further note AC has only one flight a day to Europe from YVR along with a LH code share as that is all that market can support. BA also has a flight to LHR that gets downgraded over the winter. But, AC has up to 9 flights daily to Asia that are always pretty full with lots of pure J sales. In fact the reconfig of AC's J class is to offer more J seats to business travellers from their major hubs.

Last place hockey team.

last place football team

last place airport.

On and on you can go but the fact is that the tide of public opinion in Edmonton has now shifted and the people of Edmonton will fly other carriers with the Central Canadian Carrier becoming the carrier of last choice.
