REWARD TICKET ON BA

Recommended Posts

Have decided to use some of my BA miles on a trip to LHR for Mrs Parnel.

miles required for J: 100,000

fees,etc:..................$625CDN

optional cost to preselect J seat: $93.25 each way.(option not taken)

I must admit availability is very good throughout January and February for a non status customer.

I wonder if any of the AC whiners are moving to BA

Most of those 'fees' are thieving British taxes. Check a BA reward to South America (on AA or Lan) and you'll see the fees are peanuts. I've been checking BA rewards because I now have more BA than AE points so I have to start using them.

I get the UK taxes issue as I travel there a lot. The 100K points for a TA J ticket is rather high but the preselection seat charge is absolutely ridiculous.

I agree on the seat selection fee. It's stupid in J.

Your alternative on BA transatlantic is to fly in premium economy which would lower your point price to 75,000 and reduce the thieving taxes. The seats are OK and its not exactly a super long flight.
