  2. Dorothy never misreads. Dorothy is always right. I am actually impressed that Parnel reads my blog!
  3. I think you might have misread that, this what I wrote "The new earning structure for minimum miles will be as follows: * For distance flown up to 249 miles, Aeroplan members will earn 250 Aeroplan Miles. * For distance flown of 250 miles and more, Aeroplan members will earn miles according to the actual miles flown" ..... "Now, if you are a status member with Air Canada (Prestige, Elite, Super Elite) this change will not affect you as you will continue to earn a minimum of 500 miles for flights" But of course that is for Tango Plus or higher fares. Tango fares will earn 25% of that.
  4. Agreed, however it makes it harder for non- (or, eek, lapsed) status pax to qualify -- especially if their flying patterns skew domestic. Scott. Only for flights under 249 miles Do you mean under 499? Since 500 was the minimum earned previously for flights between 1 & 499 miles.
  5. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have expanded and added to the main credit card comparison chart on Rewards Canada. 6. "We've been talking about another hotel chain launching a credit card for nearly 2 years now and we can finally let you know that it was InterContinental Hotels Group Priority Club that has been in the works. Today, Capital One will announce their partnership with IHG to issue a co-branded Priority Club Reward credit card in Canada. This will the 5th hotel rewards program to have a dedicated Canadian credit card." http://blog.rewardscanada.ca/2011/03/ca ... ority.html
  7. Not entirely sure how many CanFlyer's stay at boutique hotels in the U.S. (and one in Vancouver) but those of you who do may benefit from Stash Hotel Rewards. They have been around for nearly a year and keep adding more hotels to their roster. They have given readers of RewardsCanada.ca and FrequentFlyerBonuses.com a special sign up bonus of 500 points for signing up via our special link (this not a commissioned or paid for link, strictly a good will gesture from Stash to our readers). All you have to do is sign up before March 31 at http://www.stashrewards.com/frequentflyerbonuses
  8. Looks like someone at Continental jumped the gun thinking this route was going to start in 2011 as a little over a week ago they released a Double Onepass bonus offer for the flight starting in 2011. Perhaps they will change the terms to read Nov 2012-Feb 2013 https://www.continental.com/web/en-US/a ... ode=TB2M72

  12. I attended the launch party for this card this past Tuesday and the AMEX team is really excited about it. It seems like a very good card as it combines features found on many of its competitors cards but lumped into one card. You'll notice they mentioned Alitalia and British Airways in the press release as members of Membership Rewards, this is brand new for the program and was only revealed at the event on Tuesday, so you have some more options of which airlines to transfer points to.

  14. From my blog post on Rewards Canada this morning: "We have been given a heads up that Delta Airlines will officially launch a Canadian SkyMiles Credit Card tomorrow. The card will be issued by Capital One and it is the banks first foray into the airline frequent flyer market in Canada. We have known for about two years that Delta has been interested in launching a credit card in Canada, we just did not know when it would happen and with which bank (you may remember us mentioning a few times that a major U.S. airline was looking to launch a card here). Delta Airlines serves the most cities in Canada after Air Canada and WestJet so it is a logical place for them to launch a new credit card. It will also be the first dedicated airline card for a SkyTeam alliance airline in Canada as both Star Alliance and OneWorld already have airline specific cards in Canada. There will be two versions of the card, the Delta SkyMiles World MasterCard and the Delta SkyMiles Gold MasterCard. What we know so far is that the World MasterCard will offer 1 SkyMile for each C$1 spent, 2 SkyMiles for every C$1 spent with Delta, a limited time 25,000 SkyMile sign up bonus, a full insurance/benefit package and more. We will provide the full details on each card tomorrow when all the details are released. " http://blog.rewardscanada.ca/2010/08/de ... miles.html
