    Ac J Plans

yeah .. the new enhancements just confirmed what the SD told me. I am probably going to fly AC when i can, but not going to go out of my way to do so. fuck that.
  2. http://www.aircanada.com/en/aeroplan/altitude/updates.html?utm_campaign=PCSEE&utm_medium=email&utm_content=text_click_here&utm_source=Program_Changes_2015 we're fucked. as an SE who flies 120-140k on average each year, i will earn about 40 e-ups. given the steep increase in the number of e-ups required for long hauls, those arent going far. the 50k minimum required on AC to get SE is somewhat troublesome but manageable. As I said earlier, the upgrade place for cheap ticket buying E/SE is now PE. J class is for those who pay for it.

I was surprised to find the SD telling me all of this. BTW i was sitting in Y and she came to me at the end of the flight saying "I expected to find you in the front". I explained my company policy, Tango ticket and how it prevented me from upgrading etc. and then she starts telling me all of this. She distinctly said J in future was to be for the fully paid tickets (she may have said 'mostly' .. i was groggy) but certainly that PY was for the upgraded ones. my guess would be SE's might be able to move from Y to J on Flex but they'll prevent the lower classes from doing the same.

Had a chat wiht the SD on my HKG-YYZ flight yesterday. She said with the changes to u/g, the front cabin is less full than before. also with the new planes, the plan is to make the J cabin exclusively for the paid J pax, not the freeloading u/g types. PY is for the u/g ..
  5. Having waited over 30 minutes each time for the Valet shuttle (wiht 30-40 people in line ahead) for 2 weeks running, I am looking for alternatives. The PNF counter lady told me the 8 min wait time is for going to the airport, not pickup from. after long flights, waiting for 30 minutes is the last thing i want. so whats the alternatives? anyone use the Value Parking at Pearson .. is the shuttle quick ? skypark ?

    Awesome !

  7. That election should never have happened. the NDP lost power and voted down probably the most progressive budget in ontarios history. the only silver lining is the voters told Hudak exactly where to stick his Tea Party thinking. wait for kenney and harper to continue their racist exclusion politics.
  8. in the email today .. Dear Revenue Generating Unit, Being a highflier like you means that you have the privilege to stretch out and enjoy extra legroom in Preferred Seats when you travel with Air Canada. We’re happy to announce that there will soon be more Preferred Seats to choose from. Beginning April 7, 2014, we’re expanding the amount of Preferred Seats by reconfiguring the first few rows of the Economy Class cabin, offering up to 4 extra inches of legroom. This will be available on most Air Canada and Air Canada Express aircraft operating within North America. Here’s a preview of the timelines for the rollout of additional Preferred Seats, by aircraft type: • Airbus A320 and Embraer 175 aircraft, completed by April 7, 2014 • Airbus A321 aircraft, completed by early June • Airbus A319 and Embraer 190 aircraft, completed by late June What this means for you As we finish reconfiguring each aircraft type, you’ll continue to enjoy the same access to Preferred Seats as you do today, based on your Altitude status and the fare option purchased. Once the first few rows of the Economy Class cabin become Preferred Seats, other customers will be eligible to purchase these seats for a fee. For flights operated with our international fleet of Airbus A330, Boeing 767, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft, there will be no changes made to the availability of Preferred Seats. Altitude members will continue to enjoy priority access to the seats in the first few rows of the Economy Class cabin. With more Preferred Seats than ever, you can continue to count on enhanced comfort when you travel.
  9. i love the business class exclusive IST security immigration that leads straight into the lounge.
  10. The PQ is the duly elected govt there and the majority of francophones support measures to deny equal rights to Anglos, Jews, Muslims etc. it would be more accurate to say there are pockets of sane people there is urban areas who have refused to implement the ban on religious symbols and spoken out against it. (among other things)
  11. I've said it before and it bears repeating (notwithstanding shedding tears at plains of Abraham and all that historical melancholy). Quebec is HQ for all the anti Semitic, Anti Muslim and anti-anything not white and French in Canada. http://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2014/03/17/parti_qubcois_candidate_revives_an_antisemitic_lie.html
